Second-hand shoes and We Care Icon -glosses

Eilen lupauduin lähtemään Pupuhypyn kanssa töistä päin piipahtamaan Radiokirppiksellä. Omiin silmiin ei oikein napannut mikään, mutta Pupuhyppy löysi parit kivat jutut - mulle. Sovitin siis kahta paria kenkiä sekä hivenen hopeanhohtoisia shortseja, ja päädyin kotiuttamaan kaikki kolme. Kohtalaisen kannattava ja edullinen kirppisreissu siis, nuo kun maksoivat yhteensä vain 11 €! :)

Kirpparisaalis - kahdet kengät ja "tavoiteshortsit"

Ekat kengät ovat tämmöiset nätit solkihärpäkkeet, joissa useimpia noista soljista pystyy säätämään. Korkoa näissä on meikäläiselle melko paljon, mutta jahka saan tätä painoa putoamaan, niin ehkä tuo kävelykin alkaa helpottaa... :P Pupuhypyn suureksi harmiksi nämä oli tosiaan hälle liian pienet, itse en voinut 4 € hintaan vastustaa.

Toiset kengät ovat kivat kiilto"nahkaiset", hieman fiftarihenkiset korkkarit, jotka ovat koroltaan hieman inhimillisemmät omiin jalkoihin. Nämä näyttivät kaiken lisäksi olevan vielä ihan uudet, alkuperäinen hintalappu mollotteli toisen kengän pohjassa kirppishinnan alta. Ei paha vitosella!

Kirppikseltä suunnattiin ankkapuistoon istuskelemaan, ankka tosin oli puistosta kokonaan kadonnut. :( Pupuhyppy oli napannut Lidlistä mukaansa parit suklaamuffinit, joita sitten mutusteltiin ja juteltiin kaikenlaista. Innostipa hän miuta lähtemään tutustumiskäynnille salilleen Poltteeseen maanantaina, joten kidutus odottaa!

Kvaak kvaak, tältä kumiankka näytti kaksi vuotta sitten.

Aikamme istuskeltuamme Pupuhyppy suuntasi kotiin valmistautumaan treeneihin, kun taas itse jatkoin kohti Sokosta häälahjaa ja -korttia etsimään. (En ole mitenkään myöhässä, häät on [vasta?] lauantaina!) Löysinkin nopeasti etsimäni, kortti tosin tuotti vaikeuksia. Onnistuin myös bongaamaan itselleni uuden "koululais"kalenterin vanhan tilalle, nämä tämän malliset ovat ainoita, jotka täyttävät kaikki vaatimukseni, ja taitaakin olla jo viides lajissaan. Ne vaatimuksethan ovat: joka päivälle oma sivu; nimipäivät, pyhät ja liputuspäivät oltava merkittynä; laukunkestävä, koska pyörii mukana lähes aina; ja vähän ylimääräistä tilaa muistiinpanoille. Plussaa kansien "piilotaskuista", joissa pyörii useimmiten seteli jemmarahana, käyntikortteja ja tärkeitä numeroita/osoitteita. Tänä vuonna värivaihtoehdot oli keltainen ja vaalea lila, ei ollut vaikea valinta. Sama perhosteema jatkuu nähtävästi viime vuodelta, mikä miulle passaa vallan mainiosti. :)

New calendar, yay! :)

Lähtiessä huomasin vielä We Care Iconin aletuotteet, ja pikaisen testauksen jälkeen nappasin mukaan kaksi Magnetic Lips Perfect Shine -huulikiiltoa. Sävyjen nimet ovat Perfect Purple ja olisikohan vaaleampi ollut Magic Orchid, en pysty juuri nyt tarkistamaan. Molemmissa kiilloissa on mukana sinistä hienoa shimmeriä, vaaleammassa sävyssä selkeästi enemmän, mutta itse kiilto onkin siinä lähestulkoon väritöntä. Tummempaa sävyä en onnistunut vangitsemaan kamerallani totuudenmukaisena, vaikka miten yritin asetuksia säätää. Sävy on kuitenkin selkeästi punaiseen kuin siniseen taittava, melko magentainen ja kiva. Miulla on pari neutraalin sävyistä kiiltoa samasta sarjasta, niitä tulee käytettyä säännöllisen epäsäännöllisesti. Aika perinteisiä kiiltoja mielestäni, tahmaisia mutta antavat nätisti sävyä huulille. Nettisivulla näyttävät olevan tällä hetkellä 2,50 €/kpl, mutta alelaarista lähti jäljellä olevat sävyt hintaan 1,50 €/kpl, mii likey. :)

Tällä hetkellä olen vanhempieni luona Seinäjoella, ja kellokin on vierähtänyt jo reilusti yli puolen yön tätä tekstiä rustaillessani, kiitos nettitikun tarjoaman hitaan yhteyden (Thanks, Obama!). Palailen astialle taas viimeistään ensi viikolla! :)

So I met up with Pupuhyppy after work yesterday (aka Thursday) and we went to a flea market/second hand shop to have a looksee. I thought I couldn't find anything, but she did - two pairs of shoes and shorts, for me! I ended up buying all three, since they cost only 11 €. Not bad! :)

First pair has high heels - probably too high for my poor feet, but I promise I'll practice more once I start to get rid of some of this excess weight I'm carrying around... I really like the buckles, they make these shoes  so much cooler.

Second pair is sort of a fifties' styled high heel, luckily for me not as high as the first pair. I thought these were cute and they look brand new, they even have the original price tag underneath the second-hand tag!

The shorts were only 2 €, and even though I could squeeze myself into them, they are a REALLY tight fit, so they're more of a target pair at the moment. Pupuhyppy convinced me to join her at the gym on Monday, since I can get a three-day free trial even though I'm already signed up at a different gym. Mine's super cheap but hers provides actual classes, where people don't just show you different moves but make sure you do them correctly as well. 

After the flea market/second hand shop we headed out to sit at a "duck park" and had chocolate cupcakes. The big black rubber duck had been removed from the park though, there was just an empty spot right where it used to sit (apparently since 2010). 

We stayed there for quite a while, until Pupuhyppy realized she needed to head home to get ready if she was to head out to the gym later, and I continued on to go find a wedding present and a card. I found what I was looking for, but the card gave me lots of grief. I don't like the usual über-cheesy wedding cards, where everything is all sunshine and roses, champagne and happiness. Yeah, it _can_ be like that, but that sure as hell isn't how life will treat you every day! I finally resorted to a couple of postcards to choose from, and started thinking about the text I'd write...

While looking for the cards I stumbled upon a new calendar. I hadn't had time yet to go look for one, and past experience has taught me that when a calendar ends in July, you will most likely be able to get a new one mid-August. This applies to the only type of calendar I accept, which has looked pretty much the same for the past five years. I'm very picky about my calendars, which I guess is kinda dumb, since I hardly end up using half of the pages... But no, mine needs to have a full page per day; has to have all holidays, flag days and name days marked down clearly; has to survive being carried in my bag most of the time; and has to have some extra pages for notes. Plus side in this version is the covers, that can be used to hide a little safety money as well store business cards and other important papers. The previous one was sort of a teal/turquoise version, and this year the options were lilac and yellow. They seem to be continuing with the butterfly theme which is fine by me! :)

As I was leaving I spotted a sale on the We Care Icon -makeup products. When I saw the magenta-purple lip glosses I knew I had to get them! They're very pretty, even though purple seems to be an impossible colour for my camera to get even remotely close to the truth. I own a couple more neutral glosses of the same brand and use them every now and then. They're very traditional glosses IMO, since they are quite sticky, very glossy and give a nice hue of colour on your lips. :)

Anywho, I'm at my parents' at the moment, and I really should be going to bed, seeing as it's well past midnight now...thanks to the slow internet I have via mobile connection. (Thanks Obama!)

Lumous 2013

I finally have some energy to write about the highlight of my summer, Lumous Gothic Festival. I couldn't attend all the festivities this year because I couldn't get time off of work, so I made the most of the time I had. I had to skip Thursday Opening club altogether due to sleep deprivation and Friday being a regular working day.

When I got home from work on Friday, I spend an hour or two napping so I'd have the energy to party all night! I was originally supposed to head to Klubi by nine, but ended up being ready around 9:15, when Tinde and TomVi picked me up on their way. The only pictures I have from Friday were taken by other people, and are ...well, not that publishable. ;) Shame, since I don't have a decent picture of my outfit, I was really loving the Lip Service skirt, got to wear it for the first time!

Friday ended up being really great, I met two lovely ladies who confessed being readers of my blog, met several familiar faces, had a few drinks, ignored the pouring rain outside the club, danced my butt off during Cryo's gig, talked to a person from a year ago, ignored another from a couple years back, ended up walking home with big blisters on the balls of my feet, had a random stranger try to chat me up on the way home and laughed at a police car driving reeeeaaaaallly slow past me. A good evening with lots of fun! ^__^

Saturday's plan was to head out to Dark Market at Vapriikki by 12:00. I hitched a ride with TomVi and Tinde again as it began to rain and I was running late. We met up with Pupuhyppy, Sipulimies and Disa, checked out what the sellers had to offer (which wasn't that much this year, IMHO), and waited for one more person who chose not to show up in the end. I bought a pair of spiderweb stockings and a Lumous-key chain for my work badge.

From the market we headed out for some food. We were planning on going to Napoli for some pizza but didn't have the patience to wait for a table so we chose to get some Kotipizza instead. We also drove the guys nuts by wanting to go look at some shoes and clothes, but made it up with waffles. :) Then we parted ways to prepare for another night of partying.

Pupuhyppy came over to my place and we got ready together. I was having a wardrobe malfunction because I knew which skirt I wanted to wear but couldn't get any top to work with it. She was very helpful with the options and it was nice having her company, it's been too long since the two of us hang out together! ♥

I had ordered some hair chalk from ebay, but they didn't arrive in time. I ended up mixing Fudge purple and pink together with some conditioning treatment, and dyed the ends of my hair. I love it!
I tried something new with my hair and gathered it all onto the right side of my head. It looked really nice on this side, but I'm not too sure about the left side...

It may not look like it, but I was quite sloshed around the time of this picture (already, hah!) and it looked like I was groping Pupuhyppy, hence the cropping! (also to hide my ice cream baby)

I had a lot of fun on Saturday, despite the fact that Deviant UK had to cancel due to perfecly understandable and unfortunate reasons. We got to the club quite late, and spent most of the night on the terrace. I just love all these people and the feel of it all. And yeah, some of these gothy people are really hard to warm up to and tend to stick to their own familiar groups and it sucks, but I love the fact that there are so many clubs and happenings like this in Finland. I feel like I belong.

Anywho, I had a bit too much to drink, but man, I had so much fun! I slept really late on Sunday morning, so I missed the goth bloggers meet on Gothnic, but managed to drag my ass to the park eventually to meet up with Pupuhyppy and Sipulimies. I stayed for a while before heading home for a shower and a nap, and eventually decided it would be best to skip the End club altogether. I didn't really want to, but I was exhausted (I had been working overtime the past week, 12 days straight at the office had left me half-dead) and had to wake up early for work on Monday morning - with the lovely addition of a dentist's appointment in the morning. I'd like to think that I was missed, at least by one person, but one can never tell.
I'm quite bummed that it's all over now, but seeing how I was immediately back to my old tricks, maybe it's just a good thing... ;)

...aaaand no surprises about the face.

And in other news - Boyfriend and I broke up on Monday. Didn't come up as a surprise to anyone close to me seeing as I'd been unhappy for a while. It was a mutual decision in the end, no drama, no fuss. A bit awkward in the end, but a relief to both of us, I think. :) Onwards to new adventures! ♥

Kesälärpättimiä

Ajattelin tehdä pienen kokoelmapostauksen kesäkengistäni. Pari vuotta sitten sattumalta Turtolan Cittarista bongatut Maailman Ihanimmat Ballerinat menivät hajoamaan jo viime vuoden loppukesästä, joten oli pakko etsiä uudet. Kyseiset ballerinat olivat ensimmäiseni moniin vuosiin, olin jo lähestulkoon luovuttanut moisten popojen suhteen, kun tuntui että kaikki ballerinantapaiset joko tipahtelivat jalastani tai sitten hiersivät mitä moninaisemmista paikoista. Plus että näissä oli vielä päheitä niittikoristeita!

Korvikkeet - nekin Cittarista - löytyivät toukokuun lopulla äitin kanssa kaupassa pyörähtäessä, ja äitin sponsoroimana sainkin ne heti kahdessa eri värissä. Lärpäkkeet tuntuivat jalassa hyvältä, ajattelin ensiksi kokeilla rusetin poistamista ja kenkien tuunausta niiteillä, mutta toistaiseksi nämä ovat palvelleet varsin hyvin ihan näin "au naturel"einakin. Pinkit olivat tänään ensimmäistä kertaa ulkoilutuksessa! ^.^

Tuntuvat jalassa kivoilta, ja normihinnan 19,90 € sijaan kassakuitti ilmoittikin lipareitten maksaneen vaivaiset 14,90 €/pari

Näiden lisäksi olen pariin otteeseen käynyt kiertämässä Skopunktenin valikoiman ballerinanmetsästysreissulla, ja viimeisimmällä kerralla ostinkin sieltä yhdet lisää. Nämä kenkäset ovat samaan aikaan jotenkin kivat ja silti tyhmät, tuntuivat pehmoisilta jalassa, ja olivat edulliset, joten piti nekin kotiuttaa. Ikävästi vain toinen kantapää tuntuu kävellessä hiertävän, ovat ehkä hieman eriparia, liekö toinen muutaman millin lyhyempi? Tätä ei tietysti kaupassa huomannut, toivottavasti kantapää hieman pehmenisi käytössä.

Samalla Skopunktenin reissulla ostin myös (ainakin omaan silmääni) pätevämmät salikengät entisten surkeiden kengäntekeleiden tilalle. Neonvihreän ja mustan yhdistelmä vetosi kovasti, nämä olivat myöskin alennuksessa, ja sopivaa kokoa, joten mukaanhan ne lähti.

Lenkkikenkinä taasen palvelevat kanadantädin pari kesää sitten jättämät Rock & Tone-lenkkarit, jotka ovat hieman liian naftit omaan jalkaan, mutta saavat nyt toistaiseksi kelvata. Hyvin vähän on muutenkaan tullut lenkkipolulle asti innostuttua, joten eiköhän se näillä...

Muuten jos sää on ollut viileämpi ja on joutunut kaivaa sukat esiin, on tullut käytettyä hyvin palvelleita mustia vapaa-ajan kenkiä, nämäkin alun perin alennuskorista.

 Nätimpiä(?)kin kenkiä on tullut hankittua parit, molemmat Boohoolta. Harmi vain, että tulin hankkineeksi kokomustat kiilakorkkarit liian suurina, kun en osaa ajatella miten jalkani asettuu korollisissa kengissä. Molemmat ovat vielä pelkällä sovitusasteella, mutta nyt olisikin täydellinen tilaisuus ajaa nämä sisään työpaikalla.

Olenkin todennut, että korkkareista ja ilman sukkia käytettävistä kengistä jalkaani sopii parhaiten koko 39, kun taas sukkaa vaativista, suuremmista ja lämpimemmistä kengistä on koko suosiolla 40. Tuntuu jotenkin hassulta, että jalka on niin "normaalin" kokoinen pituuteen verrattuna, kaveripiiristä kun löytyy samanpituista tallaajaa suuremmalla jalalla.

Uusin kenkähankintani on Radiokirppikseltä löytyneet sydänkoristeiset pikkukengät. En ole ihan varma mikä näissä loppupeleissä viehätti, kengät kun ovat vähän siinä ja siinä ovatko liian naftit jalkaani, mutta pakko ne oli kotiuttaa. Kengät eivät ole mustat vaan enemmänkin tummanharmaan, korkoa on sopivasti omaan jalkaani. Näitäkin täytyy yrittää testailla toimistolla, näkee sitten mimmoisia rakkoja nämä mahdollisesti saavat aikaan...

Metal Mulisha

Miulla on ollut tarkoitus tehdä tällä ja ensi viikolla hieman normaalia pidempiä työpäiviä, jotta voin rauhassa olla osan päivästä poissa ensi viikon perjantaina. Menen vihdoin ja viimein korjailemaan/jatkamaan tähän mennessä ainutta tatuointiani, johon en loppujen lopuksi ole ollut kovin tyytyväinen. En pysty olla koko päivää poissa töistä, joten yritän saada ylimääräistä työaikaa sisään sen kolmisen tuntia, mitä tatuoija arveli projektin maksimissaan vievän.

Tänään tupsahteli kuitenkin sen verran aikaa ja energiaa vaativia asioita eteen yksi toisensa jälkeen, että kun viimein kolmen tienoilla en osannut enää keskittyä mihinkään muuhun kuin järjettömään hihittämiseen, luovutin suosiolla ja lähdin kohti kotia.

Innostuin aamulla änkemään päälleni ensimmäistä kertaa uuden kesämekkoni, joka saikin kehuja töissä. Jopa pyöräily onnistui mekon kanssa, tuo kun ei ole mitenkään hervottoman leveä helmasta, niin ei tarvinnut pelätä sen jäävän pinnojen väliin. Toimistolla on kuitenkin ollut sen verran viileää, että neuletakki on jatkuvassa käytössä, eilen oli sen lisäksi myös kynsikkäät palelevia sormia lämmittämässä!

I've been meaning to work longer hours this week and the next to make up for next Friday, when I'll only be working half day. I've finally got an appointment to get my one and only tattoo continued and retouched, and since I can't take the day off (not that I'd actually need the whole day), I'm trying to put in the three hours the tattoo artist thought it might take.

Today, however, ended up being full of both time and energy consuming projects, so when I ended up being really restless (brainless) and giggling at everything at around 3pm, I just gave up and came home. Better luck tomorrow?

This morning I decided to wear my new summer dress to work, and to my relief it was really easy to bike in. I was worried the lengths might get tangled up in the wheels, but since the hem isn't too wide there were no such problems. I also got complemented on the dress, and I agree, it's really nice - and super long. The offices at work are really chilly though, so I'm constantly wearing my cardigan and even had to wear arm warmers yesterday!

Boyfriend thinks I could've shown a little less cleavage though, but I like me boobs! If someone has a problem with them, well, I'm sorry I'm not sorry, that's just what my boobs do.

Kyllästyin peilikuvan hiusmurjottajaan taas ihan totaalisesti, ja käväisin ex tempore kysäisemässä kampaaja-aikaa perjantaina. Sainkin ajan heti lauantaille, ja istuttuani lähes neljä tuntia erinäiset värinpoistot ja sävytteet päässä on jälleen tyytyväinen olo. Ei ole pitkään aikaan ollut niin nätti olo, kun tuon jo pitkästyttämään alkaneen istuskelun jälkeen! =^.^= Rahaa meni juuri niin paljon kuin pelkäsinkin, mutta peilistä takaisin möllöttävä hymynaama on kaiken sen arvoinen. ♥

Vielä on matkaa tavoitteeseen, ja vaikka hiusten pituuksista ei kaikki kotivärjäyksellä kerätty tumma pigmentti vielä täysin lähtenytkään, ollaan nyt jo sentään huomattavasti lähempänä lopputulosta. Hiusten alaosion mustaa (sitä rakasta, tuttua ja turvallista ♥) hieman päivitettiin, kuivia latvoja saksittiin kymmenisen senttiä, ja sain ohjeet värinpoistolla tapetun vaalean osion muhittamiseen kaiken maailman hoitomömmöissä kosteuden palauttamiseksi. Aikaa projekti vaatii edelleen, mutta enää ei tee mieli pamauttaa nyrkillä peiliä sinne vilkaistessa...

Valitettavasti viikolla kerätty univelka vei lopulta voiton ja Bella Morten sijaan jäinkin kotisohvalle nuokkumaan. Noh, sattuuhan näitä, ja ainakin luulisi 15 tunnin unien riittävän hetkeksi aikaa...

Olen myös tehnyt hirmuiset määrät vaateostoksia, joista tällä kertaa lättykuvaesittelyssä Lip Servicen Quarantine-sarjan Decontamination-toppi sekä Epidemic Screen legginsit vihreällä kaasunaamarikuviolla. Molemmat ebaysta koossa L, joka osoittautui tuon verkkokankaan ansiosta ei-niin-kauhean joustavaksi, joten näillä makkaroilla ei vielä toistaiseksi omia kuvia luvassa... :P

I got fed up with the reflection in the mirror, and quite ex tempore booked an appointment at a hair salon for Saturday. I sat there for nearly four hours with bleach and hair dye on my head, reading random beauty mags and powernapping.

The result was worth the wait and all the money spent, though. It's been quite a while since I've felt so pretty and happy with the creature smiling back at me in the mirror. ♥

There's still ways to go before it's what I want it to be, but I'm a lot closer to what I want it to be  - the bangs are pretty much perfect right now! I spent the longest time trying to choose between keeping them and growing them out, and eventually decided to just stick with them. I didn't lose too much of the length even though my hair did burn with the bleaching, and I now need to soak it in every possible moisturizing care product I can with every single wash for who knows how long... I also had the lower black part touched up, and I really like the results so far - hey, at least I don't feel like punching the face in my mirror every morning!

Unfortunately I had to skip Saturday's Bella Morte -party due to complete exhaustion from the week (sleep deprivation), but these things happen, and you'd think 15 hours of continuous sleep would provide enough energy to last a while... ;)

Anywho, I've also bought tons of new clothes, but for now I only have a poor picture of Lip Service Quarantine -line Decontamination screen top and Epidemic screen leggings. I bought both from ebay in size L, which ended up being a little more tight than I had hoped, mostly due to the screen mesh being non-stretchy. So no pictures of me in them now, since it isn't as pretty a sight as the model (also blonde) they used for this line! :P

Reilun kuukauden myöhässä, mutta parempi myöhään, kuin ei silloinkaan. ;) Poikaystävä ei keksinyt mitään, millä olisi miuta lahjonut, varsinkin kun kerkesin itse ostella jo kaiken mahdollisen haluamani. Sitten yksi ilta sen kekkasin, miultahan puuttuu Necronomicon aina vaan!

Kaiveltuani bookdepositorysta kauniin ja päheän version kirjasta linkkasin sen Poikaystävälle, joka ilmoitti laittaneensa sen tilaukseen. Happiness! ^.^ Selaillessani törmäsin myös upeaan musta-punakantiseen teokseen, johon oli koottu kaikki Edgar Allan Poen runot ja tarinat. Poikaystävä päätti hankkia senkin, ja nyt kirjat möllöttävät tuossa vieressä, kuolavanaltani suojattuna. ♥

Boyfriend couldn't figure out what to get me for my birthday, especially since I went and bought everything I wanted myself. Then one night it came to me - I have yet to find a Necronomicon into my bookshelf!

Necronomicon has normal white edges on pages, whereas Poe's pages are lined with silver. Love!

So I browsed through Bookdepository for a cool version and came across this awesome leatherbound commemorative edition, and bam, send the link to Boyfriend, who then ordered it for me. After browsing some more I completely fell in love with another leatherbound classic - The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe. Boyfriend was kind enough to get that one for me as well! ♥

I now have both sitting next to as I type this, close but not close enough for me to accidentally drool on them... ;)

Tired, not wearing any makeup, hair is a mess, but what the hay, I'm happy. :)
