Lumous 2014

Hieman olen taasen myöhässä, mutta parempi myöhään kun ei silloinkaan?

Jälkikäteen jäi harmittamaan, etten väsymykseltäni jaksanut osallistua Lumous pre-bangiin torstaina 12.6.2014, mutta olin tekemieni ylitöiden jälkeen niin poikki, etten olisi millään selvinnyt enää perjantaiaamuna töihin. En myöskään osallistunut Lumouksen torstain aloittelupäivään, vaan odottelin Herra J:n saapuvaksi Tampereelle, minkä jälkeen oli edessä pakolliset kauppareissut, ruuanlaitot ja viikonlopun vaatekriiseilyt.

Perjantaina piti mennä Tiinalle avuksi myyntikamojen roudaamisessa, Herra J autonomistajana oli nakitettu kuskiksi myös lauantaipäiväksi. Haettiin siis hirmuinen kasa vaatteita ja koruja Ateljeekadulta odottelemaan launtain Dark Marketia. Siinä samalla tuli poikettua sushilounaalla Watami Sushissa, joutui Herra J:kin maistelemaan epäilyttäviä riisipalleroita. Itse ahmin tapani mukaan mahani ihan ähkyyn saakka, ehkä joskus opin vähän rajoittamaan...?

Yritettiin nukkua hieman päikkäreitä ennen illan koitoksia, mutta eihän siitä mitään tullut. Vaatekriisi päättyi lopulta kahden vaihtoehdon välillä mustaan pvc:hen (varsin loistava idea kuumalle kelille!). Tiina on juuri muuttanut miekkosensa (jonka olen joskus Sipulimieheksi tainnut nimetä?) kanssa saman katon alle ja oli kutsunut enemmänkin kavereita iltaa aloittelemaan, mutta eihän sinne lopulta eksytty kuin minä ja Herra J. Viini virtasi ja sipsejä tuli naposteltua kaiken dorkailun lomassa. Kuviakin tuli räpsittyä niin paljon, kun vain kännykän akku salli! Itse ilta meni lähinnä terassilla istuskellessa ja ihmisten kanssa pölläillessä, en jotenkin saanut itseäni bändifiiliksiin lainkaan, vaikka kovasti esimerkiksi Autogenin lavashowta on hehkutettu joka suunnassa. Ilta päättyy osaltani hieman sameisiin muistikuviin, kenties sen nautitun alkomaholin määrää voisi jatkossa myöskin rajoittaa...

Jep oon lihonut jälleen. :( Lets not go there, en pidä peilikuvastani tällä hetkellä.

Lauantaina oli aamulla aikainen herätys ja pikainen itsensä kuosiinsukiminen, sillä olin lupautunut Tiinalle kaveriksi Dark Marketin myyntikojuun. Vaikka itse tapahtuma alkoi vasta yhdeltätoista, oli ennen sitä paljon kannettavaa, koottavaa sekä järjesteltävää. Osallistuin itse pöytäkustannuksiin tuomalla joitakin second hand -vaatteita ja kenkiäni myyntiin. Muutamista kengistä ja vaatteista pääsinkin eroon, kiitoksia vain kaikille omalta osaltani! Oli myös mukava saada Tiinan vaate- ja korumallistoa esille ja tunnetuksi, ja festivaalin aikana ehti kyllä bongaamaan myös custom-tuotteita! Oon niin ylpeä tuosta naisesta ettei tosikaan. ♥

Sipulimies kävi meitä välillä ruokkimassa Arnold'sin bageleilla ja Herra J ilmestyi paikalle Dark Marketin lähestyessä loppuaan. Kamat mahdollisimman nopeasti kasaan, autoon ja takaisin kotiin, jossa sukelsin suoraan peiton alle nukkumaan. Herra J oli itse ehtinyt lepäillä päivän mittaan, ja laittoi unieni aikana ruokaa. ♥ Hieman levättyäni oli taas aika ihmetellä päivän vaatetusta, josta ei taida olla olemassa yhtäkään kuvatositetta. Olin perjantaina saanut jalkani niin kipeiksi, että päätin mennä hyvin rennolla linjalla ja laitoinkin ylleni vain lempi-Lipparia, eli Lolita Candy-bloomersit. Näihin yhdistin röyhelötopin ja Lipparin mustan liivin sekä niittisandaalit sekä koruja. Pikasotkumeikki naamaan ja jälleen Tiinan & Sipulimiehen luokse, jossa tällä kerralla oli meidän lisäksi muitakin. Kauaa ei tosin ehditty paikalla ihmetellä, kun Tomvi tarjoutui kyyditsemään meidät Klubille.

Kännykästäni oli akku niin finaalissa, ettei kuvatositteita lauantailta löydy kun alkupäivästä. Kameraakin kuljetin toki mukana koko festivaalin ajan, mutta eilen muistikorttia tutkiessani jouduin toteamaan, että yhtäkään kuvaa en koko kapistuksella tullut ottaneeksi. D'oh! Noh, Klubilla oli kuitenkin jälleen vuorossa sosialisointia ihmisten kanssa, paljon juotavaa sekä niitä bändejä. En edes yrittänyt ottaa esiintyjistä kuvia koko festivaalin aikana, koska ne eivät juuri ikinä onnistu, ja on mukavampi keskittyä itse artistiin kuin kuvaamiseen. Leather Stripin aikana tuli pompittua niin paljon kun vain jaksoi, kunnes lopulta oli pakko luovuttaa ja lähteä haukkaamaan happea terassille. Parhautta. Illan mittaan piilarini alkoivat kuivua silmissä niin ikävästi, että tehtiin lopulta katoamistemppu taksilla kotiin. Höh!

Sunnuntaina sai viimein nukkua hieman pidempään, eikä Gothnicillekaan tullut lähdettyä millään kiireellä. Pääsimme keskustaan ihanan Tinden kyydillä, napattiin Lidlistä evästä mukaan ja tallusteltiin sitten puistoon istuskelemaan. Tuttavat aika nopeasti luovuttivat ja lähtivät omille teilleen, mukaanlukien Tinde itse, joten jäätiin Herra J:n kanssa kaksin (no olihan siellä puistossa populaa vaikka kuinka) nauttimaan auringonlämmöstä ja virvokkeista. Sunnuntai oli ainut päivä, jolle olin miettinyt vaatetusta jo etukäteen: puistoon maximekko ja illaksi diskopalloasu. Maksimekkoja omistan tällä hetkellä kolme, joista valitsin ylleni Lipparin Fashion Victim -maxin ihastuttavan sinisellä Four Horsemen -printillään. Mekko on muuten sama, joka miulla oli ylläni kun ensimmäistä kertaa Herra J:n kanssa tavattiin melkein vuosi sitten.^__^ Sunnuntai-illalta ei sitten olekaan kuvia Endin vähäpukeisesta luonteesta johtuen.

Kokonaisuudessaan oli oikein mukava Lumous, josta toipumiseen meni jälleen monta päivää. Ensi vuotta odotellessa!

Comeback?

Slowly trying to get back to blogging, so here goes... :)

So what's been happening? I've been working overtime lately to save up some extra money and spending weekends with my boyfriend. So not that exciting, but I've managed to save up some money for my actually two weeks of summer holiday! I haven't had a vacation since I started working at the end of January last year, so I've been waiting for this a long long time!

I had my first two vacation days after midsummer on June 23rd and 24th. We spent Midsummer by going to Seinäjoki to see my parents on Friday and then headed to Evijärvi to my uncle's place on Saturday. My aunt and her husband from Canada had come to Finland to see relatives on their holidays, so it was nice to see them. My parents headed back home in the evening, but Mr. J and I decided to spend the night at the sauna cabin by the lake. We headed back on Sunday and just chilled at home the evening. I had an appointment to get my tattoo done on Monday, so I spent most of the day there while Mr. J was cruising around Tampere checking out second hand shops. My tattoo was originally supposed to be just bats, but on the first appointment with the tattoo artitst nothing seemed to go right, so after three hours of planning we decided to call it a day and booked another appointment. In the end the tattoo will be more complex and feature a lot more than just the bats, and is still a work-in-progress at the moment. I do love my Nossu though! ^_^

Today's my third vacation day of the year and I'm just chillaxing at home trying to think up outfits for this weekend's Lumous-festival. I know what I'm wearing on Saturday to Dark Market, where I'll be helping Tiina from Rogue sell her products and also selling some of my shoes and clothes, since part of the table will be for second-hand items. I also know what I want to wear on Sunday evening for The End -party, but I have absolutely no idea what I want to wear on Friday or Saturday evening! I'm probably not attending the Start party today, because I still have stuff to do, but we'll see. ;)

Lumous 2013

I finally have some energy to write about the highlight of my summer, Lumous Gothic Festival. I couldn't attend all the festivities this year because I couldn't get time off of work, so I made the most of the time I had. I had to skip Thursday Opening club altogether due to sleep deprivation and Friday being a regular working day.

When I got home from work on Friday, I spend an hour or two napping so I'd have the energy to party all night! I was originally supposed to head to Klubi by nine, but ended up being ready around 9:15, when Tinde and TomVi picked me up on their way. The only pictures I have from Friday were taken by other people, and are ...well, not that publishable. ;) Shame, since I don't have a decent picture of my outfit, I was really loving the Lip Service skirt, got to wear it for the first time!

Friday ended up being really great, I met two lovely ladies who confessed being readers of my blog, met several familiar faces, had a few drinks, ignored the pouring rain outside the club, danced my butt off during Cryo's gig, talked to a person from a year ago, ignored another from a couple years back, ended up walking home with big blisters on the balls of my feet, had a random stranger try to chat me up on the way home and laughed at a police car driving reeeeaaaaallly slow past me. A good evening with lots of fun! ^__^

Saturday's plan was to head out to Dark Market at Vapriikki by 12:00. I hitched a ride with TomVi and Tinde again as it began to rain and I was running late. We met up with Pupuhyppy, Sipulimies and Disa, checked out what the sellers had to offer (which wasn't that much this year, IMHO), and waited for one more person who chose not to show up in the end. I bought a pair of spiderweb stockings and a Lumous-key chain for my work badge.

From the market we headed out for some food. We were planning on going to Napoli for some pizza but didn't have the patience to wait for a table so we chose to get some Kotipizza instead. We also drove the guys nuts by wanting to go look at some shoes and clothes, but made it up with waffles. :) Then we parted ways to prepare for another night of partying.

Pupuhyppy came over to my place and we got ready together. I was having a wardrobe malfunction because I knew which skirt I wanted to wear but couldn't get any top to work with it. She was very helpful with the options and it was nice having her company, it's been too long since the two of us hang out together! ♥

I had ordered some hair chalk from ebay, but they didn't arrive in time. I ended up mixing Fudge purple and pink together with some conditioning treatment, and dyed the ends of my hair. I love it!
I tried something new with my hair and gathered it all onto the right side of my head. It looked really nice on this side, but I'm not too sure about the left side...

It may not look like it, but I was quite sloshed around the time of this picture (already, hah!) and it looked like I was groping Pupuhyppy, hence the cropping! (also to hide my ice cream baby)

I had a lot of fun on Saturday, despite the fact that Deviant UK had to cancel due to perfecly understandable and unfortunate reasons. We got to the club quite late, and spent most of the night on the terrace. I just love all these people and the feel of it all. And yeah, some of these gothy people are really hard to warm up to and tend to stick to their own familiar groups and it sucks, but I love the fact that there are so many clubs and happenings like this in Finland. I feel like I belong.

Anywho, I had a bit too much to drink, but man, I had so much fun! I slept really late on Sunday morning, so I missed the goth bloggers meet on Gothnic, but managed to drag my ass to the park eventually to meet up with Pupuhyppy and Sipulimies. I stayed for a while before heading home for a shower and a nap, and eventually decided it would be best to skip the End club altogether. I didn't really want to, but I was exhausted (I had been working overtime the past week, 12 days straight at the office had left me half-dead) and had to wake up early for work on Monday morning - with the lovely addition of a dentist's appointment in the morning. I'd like to think that I was missed, at least by one person, but one can never tell.
I'm quite bummed that it's all over now, but seeing how I was immediately back to my old tricks, maybe it's just a good thing... ;)

And in other news - Boyfriend and I broke up on Monday. Didn't come up as a surprise to anyone close to me seeing as I'd been unhappy for a while. It was a mutual decision in the end, no drama, no fuss. A bit awkward in the end, but a relief to both of us, I think. :) Onwards to new adventures! ♥

Lumous Gothic Festival 2011

Tämän vuoden Lumous oli minulle vasta kolmas, mutta nautin siitä jälleen täysin siemauksin. Alunperin oli tarkoitus lähteä humppaamaan jo torstai-iltana, mutta totesin olevani jo sen verran vanhus, etten jaksaisi niin montaa päivää putkella. :D Vietin sitten rauhallisen koti-illan pohtien kuitenkin viikonlopun asuvalintoja.

Alunperinhän minun oli tarkoitus tehdä itse asu yhdelle päivälle, olin ostanut kankaat (mustaa wetlook & leatherlook trikoota), ja suunnitellut Pupuhypyn kanssa mallin, kaavatkin oli piirrettynä. Nuo trikoot osoittautuivat kuitenkin hankaliksi ommella, joten jäivät nyt vielä odottamaan. Hameeseen oli tarkoitus tehdä röyhelökoristetta, mutta materiaalista johtuen se jäi pullottamaan rumasti. =/ Toisen päivän asun oli tarkoitus olla nuo aiemmin esitellyt Lipparin violetit vinyylitantut, mutta koska ne olivat päälläni vähän naftit, niin jätin ne vielä odottelemaan.

Helteet tuottivat myöskin ongelmia vaatetuksen kannalta, varsinkin kun päätin liikkua pyörällä kko viikonlopun ja säästää mahdolliset bussi- ja taksirahat. Perjaina sitten suunnistin kaupungille Sipulimiehen asunnolle, jossa aloittelimme Pupuhypyn kanssa, minä meikkailin ja vaihdoin vaatteet. Omasta mielestä asuni henki hieman entisaikojen tupakkityttöjen kostyymiä, omani tosin kokosin lähinnä raitasukkisten, Lipin hameen, ja tuon pikkuhatun pohjalta. Meillä oli Pupuhypyn kanssa sen verran kivaa, ettemme ehtineet enää Doggariin ja olimme Klubillakin vasta kymmenen jälkeen. Menoa se ei kuitenkaan haitannut, ja oli mukava nähdä tuttuja ihmisiä pitkästä aikaa. ^^

Lauantaina suunnistimme puolenpäivän jälkeen Sohoon syöpöttelemään isommalla porukalla. Tältä reissulta ei ole kuvia, mutta ruuan jälkeen lähdimme sitten parissa erässä kohti Vapriikkia ja Dark Marketia. Myyjiä tuntui olevan vähemmän kuin viimeksi, enkä ostanut muuta kuin absinttitikkareita. Olivat muuten aika nameja! ^^

Perinteeksi muodostunut DM-kuva samalla kohtaa, tänä vuonna tosin yhteiskuvana Pupuhypyn kanssa.

Vapriikkijengi

Kotimatkalla jäin sitten näppärästi kaatosateen kouriin, joten olin kuin uitettu kissa perille päästyäni - ballerinoistakin sai kaataa vesilammikot lavuaarin pohjalle. Sade sentään viilensi ilmaa mukavasti, joten päätin valita lauantai-illaksi pvc:tä/vinyyliä ylleni. Otin kuitenkin vielä torkut ennen uutta reissua kaupungille. Tämän johdosta valmistautuminen ja Klubille suunnistaminen meni taasen melko myöhälle, joten ensimmäinen bändi oli jo ehtinyt lopettaa. Päädyin taasen viettämään melkoisen paljon aikaa terassilla, sillä sisällä oli todella kuuma. Klutaen keikaltakin jouduin pakenemaan melko nopeasti ulos, sillä olo alkoi olla melkoisen hutera jo siinä vaiheessa. ;)

Sunnuntain Gothnicille ei onneksi tarvinnut suunnistaa millään älyttömällä kiireellä, mutta olin silti kaveriporukasta viimeisenä paikalla. Olin viettänyt koko viikonlopun pariskuntien seurassa, joten kieltämättä alkoi itsellä olla hieman orpo ja yksinäinen olo, johon sitten Pupuhyppy totesi todella lohduttavasti: "No onhan sulla pyörä!" :P

Istuskelimme Näsinpuistossa pitkän tovin hyvän sään innoittamana, ja jatkoimme siitä vielä Hämeenpuistoon terassille toviksi istuksimaan. Jahtasimme sitten vielä ruokaa sisätiloista, jonka jälkeen olikin tämän tyttösen aika suunnistaa kotiin, että olisin aikaisin aamulla valmis ensimmäiseen työpäivään. Jouduin siis jättämään loppubileet välistä, ei voi mitään. =/

Mutta hauskaa siis oli, paljon kauniita ja ihania ihmisiä, ja tulipa sitä bongattua livenä muutama tuttu blogaajakin, juttusille en tosin päässyt. Ehkäpä sitten ensi kerralla. :)

This year's Lumous was the third one for me, and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely. I had planned on heading out already on Thursday evening, but decided to chillax and gather some strength for the following days. After all, I'm not the youngest of girls anymore... :P Originally I was planning on making an outfit for one day, and then wearing the purple Lip Service clothes I posted earlier, but well, my plans were kinda f'ed up and the Sexy Secretary skirt was a tad too tight, so... I ended up wearing a random outfit I just threw together on Friday, and blue vinyl Lip Service on Saturday. For some reason the first look kind of reminded me of those olden days cigarette girls, I think it was because of the hat, the lacy skirt and the vertical striped tights I was wearing. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the full outfit, but you can see me eg. in this picture. I absolutely LOVED the mini crin/cyberlox I had bought on ebay for this, they looked absolutely perfect with the black dreads. :) On Saturday a bunch of us headed out for a late lunch, and then to Vapriikki for Dark Market. I ended up buying only absinth-lollies, since they had already sold out this year's Lumous t-shirts. I'm still not sure whether I'm really disappointed or not... Well, as my luck would have it, it started to rain cats and dogs just when I was on my way back home. I had decided to save money on bus and taxi fares, so I used my bike the entire weekend. I was soaking wet by the time I got home! Luckily, the rain ended up cooling the air to some degree, so I wasn't dying in my vinyl getup. :P

Sunday opened again as a beautiful sunny day, the perfect (?) weather for a picnic, so again we headed out to Näsinpuisto for Gothnic. I had been spending my weekend pretty much entirely with cutesy couples, so I was feeling quite lonely and missing my boyfriend. To this Pupuhyppy comforted me with the line "Well, at least you've got your bike!" :D

I stayed around in the city for as long as I could, but eventually had to give up and admit that I wouldn't be able to attend the final party no matter how much I wanted to. I had a 6am wakeup the next morning, for my first day at a new job, so I couldn't be late!

In conclusion, I'm sad it's over once again, but I had a wonderful time at Lumous, and I can't wait for next summer! ^^
